This is a tool that helps decrypt Excel files.
Encryption is good. It protects your Excel files from unauthorized use by adding a password. These could be opened only by people who have the password. Decrypting the files would be difficult. However, what happens if you forget or lose the password of your own file! You get locked out completely. This is a tool that could be useful to you, if such a thing happens. This free tool will let you decrypt the Excel file and make it usable again. As long as the password created consist of numbers, characters, letters, space, brackets etc. you would be able to unlock the files with this tool. The interface is very simple. Most people should not find any difficulty in using this. There are several settings available to define what kinds of characters have been used to define the password used.
For example you can simply select through checkboxes the following combinations. Numbers 0-9, if lowercase letters are valid, if uppercase letters are included, include space, include brackets, include other characters (you could define these), minimum and maximum length of the password are the settings you could use. You will need to define if passwords for the worksheet or the whole workbook are to be removed. After the file to be decrypted has been identified and the output path has been defined, you could ask the file to be decrypted. “Decrypt with custom setting” or using the dictionary are the final set of choices to be made. This is a good and handy tool.
